by Carol DeFehr - Saturday, 17 September 2016, 11:42 AM

    Hi Parents,

To replace my Sunday Synrevoice Message, I will now be emailing you the reminders and updates each weekend for the upcoming week. I will always post this information to the Westmount Website as well under the Site News section should you want to read it there as well.

    This Week at Westmount:

*ALL FORMS PACKAGES are NOW OVERDUE! Please ensure you have signed all pages and returned together as a package. The Verification Sheet needs you to make changes if the information is not accurate. Please sign the back of this document as well.

Please only return the REVERSE Consent form for Fruit and Veggie Program and Milk(K-5/6) if you  DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD TO PARTICIPATE

*PAC GREAT LITTLE COUPON BOOK FUNDRAISER starts Monday Sept. 19. and runs until Oct. 4th. Please support our school by participating.

*COLES ADOPT A SCHOOL PROGRAM STARTS Sunday Sept. 18. and goes until Oct. 9. Please encourage your friends and family to adopt our school, tell a story about Westmount or even donate a book! We will get matched books back to us and the possiblity of gift cards that we can use in store.

Please visit adoptaschool.indigo.ca EACH AND EVERY DAY of the campaign!

*VOLLEYBALL TRY OUTS THIS WEEK: Boys Tuesday from 2:40-4 and Girls Wed. and Thurs. 2:40-4. Thanks to coaches: Mrs. Primus, Mrs. Sauer, Mr. Watson (Ryan's dad), Mr. and Mrs. Padar (Frank's parents) and Mrs. Simpson (TTOC in SD73). Gr. 5-7

*As a school we will have our first LOCKDOWN practice this week in case of an emergency situation at Westmount. We must have two practices and we will do these in September so that we are prepared. Constable Sofie Winkels from the RCMP detachment will be joining us. Please discuss with your child that this is happening and is a requirement for Health and Safety in the district.

*CROSS COUNTRY RUN TEAM travel to the Cliff Weathermon RLC Run afterschool on Wed. Sept. 21. They will need to leave right at dismissal.

*Students with ABORIGINAL ANCESTORY please look for a consent form and programs letter coming home- please sign and return by Thursday Sept. 22 please.

*PAC Freezie THURSDAY is Sept. 22. Send $1 with your child on Thursday.

*PARKING: A reminder to be mindful of where you park at Westmount. Neighbours have been complaining that vehicles are blocking their driveways on Dickenson, being wreckless over on the Collingwood side and many of you still park in our staff parking lot. The STAFF PARKING LOT is always off limits to parents in the morning and afterschool. BYLAW has been contacted and we would not wish a ticket on any of you so please be mindful of your parking habits.

    * DOGS- Parents, School District Policy is firm in that no dogs are allowed on School District property at any time. They should not enter the school grounds and certainly should not be coming into the school with you. Please leave your dogs at home or meet your child outside the perimeter of the school grounds.

*PAC September Meeting Minutes are now posted to the website. Attached is the PAC September Newsletter. Please take a read!

*FRI. SEPT. 23- NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS. Teachers will be learning about Project Based Learning, Inquiry and the Maker Movement.

*We are extremely full at Westmount- we successfully got into our classrooms and parents should know there are only 4 available spots at certain grade levels left. Our current enrollment is 310.

It has been wonderful reconnecting with your children after the summer. I missed them!
